The
photographs presented here came out of a 2004-2006 project by Peter M
to cover police activism in San Jose, California for the sfbay.indymedia.org
website (also known as Indybay.org). He published a series of articles
with photos. Coverage included treatment of the mentally ill by the San
Jose police, conditions in the San Jose Main Jail, and the trial of State
Bureau of Narcotics Agent Michael Walker for manslaughter in the slaying
of Rudy Cardenas. Below are eight of Peter M’s photos from those assignments,
offering visual perspectives on activists who make a difference.
